Meet Maria Fernanda

I am a clinical psychologist with a master's degree in Clinical and Health Psychology, with an emphasis in child and family psychology. I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and received a certificate from the Barça Innovation Hub in the Psychology of High Performance in Sports. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Neuroscience at Universidad de Salamanca, with the goal of integrating scientific knowledge of the nervous system and its pathologies into clinical diagnosis and treatment.

I was born in Honduras and have spent my life traveling the world in search of experiences and knowledge. I have lived in Costa Rica, Lithuania, and Spain, whose diverse cultural nuances have enriched my therapeutic work and broadened my worldview.

Together we can...

Be hands on and focus on skills development

Be philosophical and uncover what life, love, loss and other human experiences mean to you

Be vulnerable and explore the emotional realm of unprocessed life events

Focus on the future, and set tangible goals to set you on a path towards them

Develop awareness and courage to change what's holding you back

Explore the impact of discrimination and social injustice on your mental health if you identify as neurodivergent, LGBTQI+, latino, indigenous, black, or another minority group

Prioritize your health as a system and develop health behaviors to support your well-being

During my academic journey, I worked with children and teens in school and sports settings. I had the opportunity to be a psychologist at a bilingual school on a beautiful Caribbean island off the coast of Honduras, where I collaborated with teachers and parents to support the emotional and cognitive development of students. From there, I traveled to Lithuania to continue my studies in psychology; I began my online private practice and simultaneously worked at a tech company. This period allowed me to experience corporate culture firsthand, understand burnout, the emotional and cognitive consequences of chronic stress in the workplace, and the need to incorporate mental health support for employees as an essential benefit.

Today, I'm continuing my studies in neuroscience so I can integrate it into my work to support each person's unique history, physiology, emotions, and their dynamic relationship with the environment.
